Safety Deposit/Bank

The Boys State safety deposit and bank is available for the delegates during the week. During registration, citizens may deposit car keys, transportation tickets, and excess cash in their possession. Items in the safety deposit box may be withdrawn during the week.

Citizens are discouraged from keeping more than $40-50 in cash on their person. The Boys State program is fast-moving and does not require staters to spend money during the week. Most staters find that a small amount of cash on hand covers the cost of sodas from the vending machine, UT-Austin souvenirs, and other small purchases. Credit and debit cards are accepted in the stores in Jester dorm, and there are ATMs available in Jester.

The American Legion is not responsible for lost valuables not deposited with the bank.
