Parents and family of Boys State delegates should be proud of their son for being selected to participate in the program. Texas Boys State is a respected, prestigious, and effective experiential education program focused on the Texas political process and the responsibilities of citizenship.
Parents are encouraged to read the Parent and Sponsor Orientation materials, available in both PowerPoint (248 KB) and PDF (97 KB) formats.
Boys State delegates’ family members are invited to observe some of the week’s activities. On Thursday evening, June 7, the Boys State Talent Show will take place, and family are invited to attend. On Friday, June 8, Boys State delegates will assemble at Jester dormitory in the morning and march in a parade to the state Capitol building for a morning of activities on the Capitol grounds. Parents are invited to observe the parade and Capitol activities on Friday.
The Boys State program officially concludes at the Capitol on Friday, June 8, and Boys State delegates will return to Jester to begin the check out process. Official check out is at 1 p.m. at Jester.
Official Boys State merchandise - including embroidered polo shirts, t-shirts, water bottles, and other items – is available for purchase throughout the week during recreation time in the Boys State Headquarters on the 2nd floor of Jester. Merchandise will also be for sale during check out at the end of the week to help Boys State delegates commemorate their week’s activities.
